    How's this for luck? - Clausing/Kondia Mill

So, I fired up my newly acquired Clausing/Kondia mill for the first time today and five minutes into testing things, I hit the Emergency Stop button to make sure that functioned. Well, it worked - too well! The machine won't fire up now. It is completely dead. Tried bypassing the switch but that didn't do anything.

This unit has a DynaPath controller/system. Does anyone know if there is another reset switch or fuse a person needs to attend to on this?

    Appreciate any and all responses.

Well it turned out to be a bad fuse on the main line. Got that figured out. Now onto problem two:

Who here knows about signal feedback? I'm now receiving an error when trying to move any of the 3 axis'. Made sure there were no limit switches tripped. I'm sure many of you have seen something similar. Where can a person start looking?

Gee, this is almost turning into a blog...

I found the issue. As it turns out, the main power supply was shot. The supply is made up of a simple bridge rectifier, 5400uf cap and a shunt regulator. It seems the regulator blew on the previous owner and since there was no voltage regulation, the servos were probably acting up. Could be why they decided to sell it. Looks like the cap took a dive, possibly during the transport of the unit.

Those big Electrolytic Capacitors don't like being frozen either. If this machine spends the winter in an unheated shop you might want to put a 20watt lamp in the cabinet to keep it from freezing.
