Has anyone ever used double stick tape to hold a thin piece(.035) of sheet metal to a thicker piece(1/4") so it could be machined? Will it work?

here are the first couple of lines, the problem occurs when cutter is returning to X0 it gets about 3 inches away and starts to go down instead of staying at the Z0.1 position.
G0 G49 G40 G17 G80...

as machine runs through program,and before it gets done traveling it moves to next line on gcode. goes down before getting to hole location, hope you understand what i am saying? thanks brian

did nt know it happened till started to investigate why the Y axis was sounding like it was binding. Sounded like there was a load on the Y axis.

:bs: :bs: Well think I found the problem, the Y axis ball screw is screwed. Ran the table out and there are ball bearings all over the place, looks like the snap ring came off the end of the shaft....

When I toggle y axis it changes direction when I let of button and push it again. It is very noisy ? Any help ? It wasworking ok. Thanks Brian
