I'm looking at this assembly again. There is just enough spring movement for me to get the belt off easily. It could just be a service factor thing, where the springs automatically provide exact...
It is a big guess for me too. I parted out a large office photo copier, and many of the belt drive guides in there had springs on the idle pulley. If someone needed to change a belt, they would...
Does a spring on the idle pulley serve a purpose, besides easily change the belt?
after disabling turbo boost and speed boosting according to linuxcnc wiki I got an even greater performance.
Max interval max jitter last interval...
fter disabling onboard audio and all usb ports except rear 2 usb, numbers improved dramatically:

I ran the latency test. Unfortunately, since I wasn't able to install GOOGLE CHROME on the version of linuxcnc I downloaded, from the ISO - since it's default is 32 BIT (but that's another...
I am interested in knowing how any why you believe print PCB tracks will not work.
Ok so your saying the hot plastic glue is sloppy, and I would end up having a nice adventure playing with the extrusion head. Ok, well I can understand that. There are so many of these tiny...
I'm familiar with the toner transfer a sending away for pcb production. No thanks.
Can I put a bare copper PCB on the plate of the 3d printer, and print a layer of plastic (pla, abs, or WHATEVER is used) directly to a bare copper board? I want to print a printed circuit board...
Well, after a week more of research. I found a bunch of "dell optiplex sff 790 I5" priced $110 on ebay, complete with memory and hard drives. It's 12" x 12" x 4" for the whole thing, case power...
Hello. I've been using Linuxcnc mainly for a standard 3 axis milling style machine and love it alot. Recently, I found some very interesting youtube videos where people use Linuxcnc to control...
Using a 3d print head for resist etching seems like a simple idea. I can't understand why I can't find examples of anyone trying it, with so many people using 3d extrusion printing now.
Dharmic: Thanks for the input. I've scrapped 3 laser printers so far, and am not interested in buying another unreliable used one or a new one for a nice low cost of $500+ an additional toner...
I've been using linux cnc successfully to retrofit large mechanical outdated cnc machines, and very impressed with the whole system. I now want to build a very small compact system for desk / bench...
I have searched around google and haven't found anything conclusive. I found some theories, but can't find any project that claim success past 1 first initial test.
I would like to bolt a...
Can EMC2 handle an arm style setup? I just want to motors on a desktop with a pen for drawing purposes.
I've build many 3 axis routers in the past, so I'm very familiar with the hardware setup...
I'm building a gantry multipurpose CNC machine (not my first build) and got all the mechanics of that squared away no problem. What I am looking to do is this:
I want to buy a 3d extrusion print...
Its not a milling machine or 3x mill or lathe. I want step/dir inputs - for these servo d/c motors with quad encoders that use probably 1 amp of power.
Its just a dc motor with a quadrature encoder. 2 lines power the motor, and 4 for the encoder. Encoder power+,ground, and the two bit signals.
Is there any cheap hobby boards for little servo motors? I'm trying to build an automatic cigarette stuffing machine, and I found a mechanism at a flea-market, but it has gearhead servo motors. I'm...
Does anyone have a link for the builder manual on a mycenter 1, fanuc 3m model c please?
I may have two if your still interested.
The led display does not seem to move away from "1" when I advance carousel. When in MDI mode, do "M6 T2" does NOTHING. Just did a master reset (accidentally) and wiped parameters - just put them...
NOT READY goes away when I put the "2nd" switch up. I fixed the issue, the limit switch for y and z were both jammed.
-- new problem, the tool changer does not appear to work
I advance...
Ok just an update; I found another old sheet with the parameters written down that were alot different then what I had, after manually entering them - the system will now jog, move carousel, turn on...
x1 x10 or x100 will not move it. Also selector switch when set to "JOG" does not display JOG on the screen.
I have a system 3m model C, I can't seem to clear "NOT READY", machine won't jog. "THND" is on the screen, when I switch selector to "JOG" this doesn't seem to change.
When I hold "RE-MOVE / 2ND...
I have done two of these with the emc2 system. If you are interested in saving yourself a ton of work - my advice is to simply use the pre-existing stepper motors that are on the machine. Buy gecko...
