Thanks for the reply.
I have a prototrak slx1630 that cuts great in x or z but not when working together like when cutting an arc, any ideas why.
Would you consider selling just the xr7 lathe.
not got hours to hand but very low hour machine, but why does it cut fine in y plus and minus and x minus but not x plus.
Now i know the tm2 is not the strogest of machines but my machine has an annoying vibration when taking an X plus cut, imagine a 100mm sqaure and start machining at the top right side, y- direction...
Hi Geof
Yes thats what i do it gets about half an hour from 400 rpm upto 2000 rpm as i dont like to hear it at 4000 rpm not cutting anything, and its a tm so should be no oil sitting in...

Yes axis i have put extra grease nipples in the right side and now feel alot better that a little grease can be seen.
Yes it has four grease nipples for x and y and another two for z, but it looks like the sytem is not balanced or the pipes to the right hand side could be blocked up.
The left side looks to have a plenty of grease but the right side looks very border line, just gives me the impression that as i pump the grease in it just comes out of the left side trucks and non...
When i grease the tm2 grease comes out of the seals on the left side of y axis rails but nothing comes out of the seals on the right side rails, is there a way of making sure that the right side is...
Hi Kevin

book says two pumps per fitting each week but i go on how much i use the machine, if its working all week i give it one pump per fitting on monday then again on wed or thurs just to spread it out.
When i first got my tm2 i had the same problem when greasing the xyz ways, grease would leak out around grease nipple making me worry if the grease was going into the trucks, so i bought a new end...
Use a top quality cutting fluid or you will break taps.
Have a look at the pull studs, i have a tm2 with bt40 tooling but came across a spindle speed increaser on cat 40 and all i did was buy a 3mm shorter pull stud and it fits perfect, you could have...
Adjusted feed up and down 10% at a time with little affect and i think speed and feed are spot on for this type of machine, the bad vibration only peeks at 6 and 12 o clock depending on clockwise or...

No i didn`t get the manual with the machine but got a general manual after, if its not to much trouble could you copy and send your parameters so i can compare.
Could anyone please tell me what (friction compensation) and (D gain) do as i think that the factory settings on my 2005 TM2 have been played with, also is there any way to get the settings it left...
