What I mean is the crossection of the heel across the length of the body (the all access neck joint as they call it)
However details of the neck pocket depth are useful. Is it angled- I read...
Does anyone have a length ways cross section of the neck pocket area (need to know the profile on the bottom of the neck joint)?
Don't worry about answering this question - its now sorted
I was just wondering if anyone knows how to model bevels using nurbs (I use Rhino).
What curves do u need to define the bevel?
If u want to model your own fretboard u can think of it as a cylinder trimmed by 3 planes (1 to define the height of the fretboard and 2 to define the taper).
Then you can use the fret distance...
Do u think there is a better way than using the patchsrf command with this data to create a top (ie how would u use the crossections to create the surface)?
WRT digitalising, the scanners and the...
These aren't my crossections but if I did use the cross sections from the plans I'm intending to use it would look simular (about the same number of crossections)...
I can get a length ways crossection throught the middle (from the Barlett les paul plan) and several crossections across the width (from the Steward mac les paul) in order make a les paul carved...
Thanx Gerry
Oh I was being an idiot. I was thinking the patch surface was the neck- fingerboard intersection surface rather than the carved top surface we just made doh!
The use of 'contour...
I am not sure if cyborgcnc could help as he uses solidworks as opposed to Rhino but PM'ing him might be worth a try.
It is true that everyone seems to be pretty careful about what knowledge they...
Hi, this is my first post in this sub forum and I've decided to post here as I've been impressed by some of your modelling. I am a bit of a noob when it comes to modelling as I've recently been...
I've documented what I've done so far here if your interested:

The threads a but messy as it...
You probably noticed I created the same thread in the General CAD section where I kinda want the discussion to move to.
A modeller told me to use control point curves as he said my model didn't...
The 2nd picture is not my work. I've tried importing the image as a background image but the image became too blury for my liking. The guy who made the 2nd picture models guitars for a living so that...
I know I've already posted it in the Rhino subsection but have now decided it is more relevant in this section.
I am just starting to learn CAD and I need to trace a guitar body perimeter with the...
Hi I am new to CAD software and have decided to model a guitar.
I am trying to trace a guitar perimeter from a pdf file using control point curves but I don't know where to put the points to get...
