About Gnutti Transfer

Established in 1955 as a servicing workshop for parent company TRAFILERIE CARLO GNUTTI, Gnutti Transfer soon found its own way in the market: almost immediately after its foundation, the company started to manufacture automatic lathes for tapware details, which were soon followed by innovative transfer machines.

GNUTTI AIMS AT BIG PRODUCTION NUMBERS
Quirino Gnutti soon understood that “teamwork” between manufacturer and users of transfer machines would become a valuable tool for the success of both. Within four to five years, Gnutti Transfer went from manufacturing just a few machines to big numbers: in 1961, when Italy’s GDP recorded a 8.6% increase, the company was already delivering hundreds of orders. Orders kept growing in number and the Ospitaletto-based factory had on-point solutions for everyone, although sometimes demand was even higher than the company’s production capacity.

70S
A SUCCESSFUL IDEA
In the Seventies, as machine technology went from pneumatic to hydraulic and as market demand reached its peak, Gnutti Transfer got to employ about 300 people. Initially, the intuition of Quirino Gnutti and its partners proved successful because the company could manufacture a machine that brought from three to six the number of simultaneous operations provided by the American ‘1-2-3’ lathe.

80S
THE IMPORTANCE OF INTRODUCING ELECTRONICS
Between the seventies and eighties, ahead of its time, the company pioneered the use of modern high-tech solutions, revolutionising the current concept of transfer machines. Through continuous technological improvements that made our machines increasingly efficient and reliable, we have also made our way into the automotive industry. General Motors was the first company in the industry to turn to Gnutti Transfer, and was later followed by European brands as well.

90S
THE INTRODUCTION OF INTEGRATION AND MODULARITY
Design and assembly processes were imbued with the concepts of integraton – i.e. the ability to make new programmes and new accessories compatible with previous machine models – and modularity – that is the possibility to expand and reconfigure new machines to the extent possible. For Gnutti Transfer, this was an inevitable, winning philosophy, since the machines manufactured in Ospitaletto had proven indestructible over time, in terms of substance and value.

INNOVATION AND EVOLUTION: MOVING TOWARDS NEW CONCEPTS OF FLEXIBILITY
Gnutti Transfer addressed the need to have new, more flexible solutions that made it possible to adapt production to changing market needs by creating NEWFLEX and PENTAFLEX, which offered the versatility it took to meet this new challenge.

DESIGN
We decided to combine the high level of technology offered by our products with accurate design. This is simply because we believe that a machine should not only be efficient, but also convey a sense of accuracy and reliability.
