In their design, these machines are machining centers. The special thing about them is their extremely stable head structure. Since the cutters must not be pushed aside during processing, such a head assembly is important. The guides of the machining axes are designed extremely stable. The axle paths are deliberately chosen to be relatively small in Y and Z in order to give the machines further stability. This stable machine design results in a very long tool life by a high vibration damping during the machining process. Since shafts are usually slim and long, such a machine design makes sense. For basic machines, a tool changer can be dispensed with for this reason. If nevertheless a tool change system is desired, this can of course be delivered optionally. This machine program is rounded off by a range of clamping devices for tuned shafts. The machines of the FB series are ideally suited for machining with large cutter heads due to their high drive performance, the existing reduction gear units and the resulting high torque.
