Wilhelm Becker is deeply rooted in Remscheid one of the three major towns
in the “Bergisches Land” region located between Cologne and the Ruhrgebiet.
The sincere engagement of a family owned middle size company and high
commitment of experienced employees are the basis for innovative reliable
quality tools since 150 years.

In the 30’th of the 19.th century Johann Daniel Becker started the production of
screws and taps. In 1867 the company “Wilh. Becker Tool Maker Company”
was officially established.

After Second World War Gottlieb Wilhelm Becker restarted production with one employee
in a factory of only 200 m2 in Remscheid’s Kronprinzen-Street.
In 1974 the company merged with the trading company “Ernst Birgden – HAHNREITER precision tools” of
Mr. Lothar Härtel.
Since that time “HAHNREITER” brand name becomes well known all over the world.

In 1990 production was moved to the new facility “Auf dem Knapp”.
The factory hall 1,800 m2 big was enlarged twice to now 3,450m2.
In 2014 office and stock moved to a new erected building on the same plot,
now concentrating all the business in one unit which helps to further optimize the
company’s workflow.

The company being led by the Becker family in the sixth generation is named
“Wilh. Becker GmbH & Co.KG –HAHNREITER Gewindetechnik” since 2015.
The introduction of a new company logo underlines its modern orientation.
Since many years Wilh. Becker offers services in different fields of grinding technologies.
In 2012 company “Schweisstechnik Remscheid GmbH &.Co KG” was established, offering services
for friction welding and flash butt welding.
This company as well being managed by Ferdinand Wilhelm and Christian Becker is located
“Auf dem Knapp 34” as well.
