New machine light fulfils Ecodesign Directive

Signal lights that indicate the current status, a malfunction, or a warning for operating personnel are widely used on machines and systems. In addition to such classic signal towers, ifm also offers machine lights that are intended for use inside the machine. These can be used to signal to service personnel, for example, in which section of the machine a malfunction has occurred. The latest generation of machine lights can be used not only for signaling but also directly for lighting. Importantly, they comply with the Ecodesign Directive in terms of energy efficiency and long-term stability.
New manufacturing technology ensures high protection class
ifm uses a new manufacturing technology for the machine light: the flexible conductor strip with the LEDs is placed between a base and a lens on the top and then completely encased in plastic. This ensures compliance with the high IP69K protection class, making the machine light ideal for applications in the food industry. This suitability is also confirmed by Ecolab certification. The lens is made of a robust plastic that has been tested in long-term trials with various cooling lubricants and disinfectants and remains permanently transparent.
The new machine light is available in two versions: The DV3010 type has a standard M12 connection on one side, while the DV3011 type has this on both sides, allowing up to four devices to be combined. Both versions are 250 mm long and offer an illuminance of around 400 lx at a distance of one meter. The spectrum contains a high proportion of blue and has a color temperature of 5,000 K, which corresponds to optimal working lighting. A matching stainless steel clip is available to attach the machine light to the machine or system. This clip has holes for screw mounting, magnetic mounting, or ifm clamping cylinders. Due to their high protection class and hygienic design, the new machine lights are particularly suitable for applications in the food industry.
