Mongoose™ is Ingersoll Machine Tools’ iconic Automatic Fiber Placement Module, purpose-built to meet the most demanding challenges in composite part manufacturing for confined female molds and complex male geometries. Introduced in 2009, Mongoose™ combines an extra-large working volume with compact deposition heads, becoming the equipment of choice for high-performance layups in aerospace, defense, and energy sectors.

Mongoose™ supports 4 to 32 tow varieties (1/8”, 1/4”, or 1/2” wide) and can deposit a wide range of fiber-reinforced materials, including thermosets, thermoplastics, dry fiber, carbon fiber, glass fiber, and BMI. Thanks to its modularity and compact design, Mongoose™ ensures optimal fiber placement even in narrow, complex tooling environments.

Engineered for maximum versatility, Mongoose™ is available in both horizontal and vertical configurations, with multiple modules automatically exchangeable to streamline operations and maximize productivity. Programming, simulation, optimization, and diagnostics are handled via Ingersoll’s proprietary software suite, while hardware control is powered by Siemens 840D and Sinumerik One CNC systems.
