Cutting Tools
Discover main Izar innovations that will be presented at EMO Hannover
IZAR, a European reference in cutting tool manufacturing, will be exhibiting at the upcoming EMO 2025, the most important international trade fair for the metalworking industry, which will take place from September 22 to 26 in Hannover, Germany. The company will be at stand B38 in hall 4, where it will showcase its latest innovations aimed at meeting the most demanding machining needs of sectors such as automotive, aerospace, energy, moulding and dies, and also composite materials.
IZAR’s presence at EMO Hannover strengthens its strategic position as the leading manufacturer in Spain and a key reference across Europe. It consolidates its commitment to precision technology, innovation in advanced coatings, and specialization in solid carbide tools, with the goal of providing solutions that ensure greater productivity, improved surface finish quality, and longer tool life for its industrial customers in Europe and worldwide.
Main product innovations that IZAR presents at EMO Hannover 2025
1. Extra-long solid carbide drill bits with internal cooling – Refs. 8413, 8414 & 8415
Developed for deep drilling applications up to 20 times the diameter (20xD), these solid carbide drill bits feature internal cooling and optimized geometry to ensure maximum chip evacuation and thermal control. They are especially suited for machining deep parts in high-value industries where precision and reliability are essential.
Main advantages:
- Greater stiffness and stability in deep drilling
- Significant increase in tool life
- High dimensional accuracy within tight tolerances
2. Special end mills for composites – Refs. 9280, 9281, 9282 & 9283
These milling cutters have been designed for machining fiber-reinforced composite materials such as carbon fiber, fiberglass, or honeycomb structures. Their specific geometry minimizes delamination and chipping, ensuring high-quality finishes on difficult-to-machine materials.
Main advantages:
- Clean, burr-free cutting
- High wear resistance in abrasive materials
- Maximum efficiency in aerospace and advanced automotive applications
3. Single-tooth end mills for aluminium and thermoplastics with new IRIS coating – Refs. 9441, 9416, 9417 & 9456
IZAR introduces the IRIS coating, based on ta-C (tetrahedral amorphous carbon), in its range of single-flute milling cutters with a mirror-polished finish. This coating provides superior wear and friction resistance, resulting in outstanding performance when machining aluminium and thermoplastics.
Main advantages:
- Excellent surface finishing
- Significant increase in tool life
- Reduced heat generation and improved chip evacuation
4. Micrograin carbide reamers coated with ALTIN – Ref. 9060
Ideal for high-precision machining in both right-hand and left-hand directions, these reamers are made of micrograin carbide and coated with ALTIN, making them suitable for critical operations that require minimal tolerances and high dimensional stability.
Main advantages:
- Consistent performance in demanding machining operations
- Excellent thermal resistance
- High precision in fine fits and tight diameters
5. Taper nosed end mills for turbines, impellers, and moulds – Refs. 9453 (1 radius), 9455 (2 radii), 9457 (3 radii)
With different radius configurations, these milling cutters are designed for highly complex 3D surface machining, such as those found in moulds, aerospace components, and rotodynamic elements like impellers and turbine blades.
Main advantages:
- Optimized geometry for roughing and finishing complex shapes
- High efficiency in machining curved surfaces
- Long tool life in hard and tough materials
6. Multi-function V-point end mills – Ref. 9450
These carbide tools combine versatility and precision. Their V-shaped tip allows drilling, center punching, countersinking, grooving, chamfering, milling, and engraving operations—all with a single tool.
Main advantages:
- Reduction in tool changes
- Savings in cycle times and production costs
- High precision in multiple operations
7. Solid carbide micro end mills for high-precision machining – Refs. 9470 (flat tip) and 9475 (ball tip)
Especially designed for high-performance deep machining, these micro end mills offer optimal control in applications such as micromechanics, precision molds, and industries like watchmaking and medical devices.
Main advantages:
- Small dimensions with high rigidity
- Excellent performance in deep cavities
- High-quality finish even in hard-to-reach areas
