Description
Solid carbide milling cutter VHM 479W HD08 for high performance machining.
The versatile areas of application include corner milling, circumferential milling, full grooves, ramping with up to 29° plunge angle, helical milling, as well as trochoidal milling. These Jongen UNI-MILL solid carbide milling cutters are suitable for both roughing and finishing and can therefore be used almost universally.
Thanks to the stable, yet open, 4-bladed design, this tool type is particularly suitable for the economical machining of materials that cause problems due to poor chip removal when using traditional tool designs. This applies, for example, to the machining of stainless steel, difficult-to-machine materials such as nickel-based alloys and titanium, as well as the machining of steel materials up to medium strength values. This type of tool has been specially designed for these applications.
Four generously dimensioned profile grooves in conjunction with a stable basic construction and a positive cutting edge geometry with a special cutting edge preparation make these tools very powerful and resilient in combination.
Enlarged chip grooves in the face area ensure optimized chip removal during full grooving with infeed ap to 1xD depth.
In addition, the internal cooling with front exit (from diameter 6mm) not only ensures better cooling, but also supports the chip removal during full grooving, ramping, helix and pocket milling.
The carbide with a grain size of 1.0µm offers very good wear resistance and edge stability combined with high toughness. The silicon-doped HiPiMS coating has an extremely homogeneous and high-performance layer structure and thus particularly high hardness and temperature stability. This combination of optimally matched carbide and coating – the grade HD08 – offers high flexural strength and wear resistance at high process temperatures.
The shank is designed according to DIN 6535-HB (Weldon) and ensures a safe extraction of the tool. The optimized free grinding with soft bergs to the shank results in improved tool rigidity with increased tolerance against shocks. Translated with DeepL
