Kummer was founded in 1917 in Tramelan, Switzerland, in an area with a long tradition of manufacturing precision machine tools. Focusing on high precision turning since 1954, the company has never ceased to develop machines meeting the most stringent requirements. The expertise we have accumulated in this field, together with an ever constant determination to supply machining solutions without compromise, makes Kummer the acknowledged specialist in high precision high productivity turning. For many years now, key sectors of high precision high volume industries such as the automotive, consumer electronics, aviation, optics, textile and hydraulics fields have been relying on Kummer know-how. The Kummer distribution network spreads through most of the world’s industrialized countries, and a large proportion of our production is exported. Technical support for our customers is provided by Kummer America Corporation in the USA and by Kummer GmbH in Germany.
