About us

Global horizons and local roots can stay together: Legor Group is the proof. One thing is bond to the other because the success of an international group was born, first of all, from the respect of the territory and its culture. If the bonds are strong, the steps to internalization follow each other in a well traced path, towards clear and concrete goals.

The typical attitude of working with enthusiasm, not being afraid of difficulties, embracing challenges as opportunities, extents itself throughout the world, where a network of passionate collaborators learns step-by-step to share values, goals and made-in-Italy.

The history of a family united in the objectives
In the spring of 1979 an energetic 40 years old secondary school teacher decided to help a friend in need: he assisted him in the artisan production of master alloys for the gold jewellery industry as well as providing support for sales and analysis of market requirements. This pioneering business idea coincided with a time of unprecedented growth in the Vicenza gold district, but it’s the will to help that put this successful story in motion, delineated by genuine values and authentic principles.

Gianni Poliero, who was a teacher at that time, is now the Chairman of Legor Group, a multinational company based in Vicenza specializing in metallurgy and chemistry mainly for the goldsmith and fashion sectors.

Initially, Gianni’s wife, Teresa, and then their seven children were carried along by Gianni’s entrepreneurial flair. All they played a significant role in the running of the company, but it was his second son Massimo who had a real passion for research and technology. Since 1992, after studying metallurgy and gaining years of technical experience in the goldware production, Massimo became head of the family firm, creating the important and advanced Research and Development laboratory and introducing a managerial approach with an international outlook.
