Foundation in 1998
Märzhäuser Sensotech GmbH was founded in 1998 and is a subsidiary of Märzhäuser Wetzlar GmbH & Co. KG, the worldwide leading supplier of manual and motorised positioning systems for microscopy. At that time, Märzhäuser Sensotech was a co-founder of the Institute of Micro Structure Technology and Optoelectronics (IMO) and is therefore one of the first manufacturers to bring MR technology into dimension measurement with a saleable, industrial product.
 
Magnetic measuring system for microscopy
A vision became reality: Märzhäuser Sensotech introduced a magnetic measuring system with a system accuracy and resolution equivalent to customary optical systems. However, at the same time this system is much more cost-efficient and even more reliable. The system is serially integrated into Märzhäuser microscope stages.

Magnetic measuring system for industrial application
Based on this success, a measuring system was developed and produced for a famous manufacturer of track systems for his standard application in mechanical engineering. Until this day, this system shows its reliability in roughest industrial environment.

Motor control unit with highest position resolution
With development of the positioning control TANGO, Märzhäuser Sensotech has consistently continued delivering precision from one source. Positioning mechanism, measuring technology and positioning control come from one company in order to enable fast and innovative response and at customer request. The TANGO controller has proved to be a huge success right from the start and meanwhile belongs to the most efficient positioning controls in the sector of stepper motor-precision controllers. Customised developments for well-known enterprises, which profit from this technology, soon followed.

New coating method brings a breakthrough for even higher accuracy
After complex development, Märzhäuser Sensotech now has a magnetic coating method for producing magnetic measurement displays. Meanwhile, it’s achievable absolute accuracy lies within a range of +/-1 µm at a scale length of 650 mm! Revolutionary is also the fact that this material can be coated on almost any other material, including constructive elements of the machine itself.
