One of the several new tools we’re launching at EMO Hannover next week is our Series 137TWF ‘Thin Wall Finisher’. Designed for thin wall machining in a single pass to improve cycle times within the aerospace industry, the 137TWF helps overcome distortion and stepped machining issues encountered during finishing of slender structures, such as spars and wing ribs.

Part of our high performance TuffCut® X-AL family, the new 5-flute 137TWF combines an anti-vibration design with through coolant, enabling finishing along the full flute length, while also improving chip evacuation in deep pocket machining.

With square or corner radius options and diameters from 6mm to 16mm, the 137TWF also incorporates a Fordlube coating for extended tool life in aluminium alloys, which also makes it ideal for precision finish machining applications outside the aerospace sector.
