The WJX series was developed as a true all-rounder and excels particularly at high feed rates with flexible and efficient performance for a wide range of applications.

Thanks to their high feed rate, the new milling cutters are perfectly suited for coarse machining and effortlessly meet today's high efficiency requirements. The WJX series milling cutters are characterized by high stability and low noise levels, even with large cutting depths and interrupted machining. These properties are due to the special geometry, which reduces the cutting resistance at the first point of contact between the insert and the material.

complex design combine outstanding economy with high sharpness and strength. The unique cutting geometry forms short chips and reliably prevents chip accumulation to further improve user-friendliness. Their thicker design gives the inserts the necessary strength to withstand high feed forces and prevent sudden breakage. In addition, the stable and long cutting edge extends far along the insert so that high feed rates can be achieved even at maximum cutting depths. The insert seat is designed by using a dovetail geometry that prevents the insert from lifting and allows stable clamping without the use of a clamping bridge. Furthermore, it favours a safe and reliable absorption of the cutting forces. The use of a wiper in the forehead area ensures a good surface quality in the use of rough machining and the use with high feeds. Overall, the geometry of the insert combines the benefits of conventional single-sided inserts - good plunge milling performance and high sharpness - with the stability and economy typical of double-sided inserts.

Varieties and sizes
The indexable inserts with the latest generation of coatings from Mitsubishi Materials are available in five different grades to cover a wide range of materials. Thanks to the wide range of grades, nothing stands in the way of highly efficient machining of steels and stainless steels, cast iron, heat-resistant alloys, titanium and hardened steels.

The shell end mills are available in the diameters 63, 80, 100, 125 and 160 mm. The shaft design has a diameter of 50 mm.

Simple and efficient
In addition to the indispensable quality and performance, the development of the new GW series focused on simple handling and high efficiency. The cutting insert can be installed and removed with a special key in no time at all. Clamping screws are not required. This greatly simplifies handling and significantly increases efficiency. Due to the conical shape of the plate seat, the plate always retains its firm fit in the mould. Three convex bearing surfaces in the plate seat ensure repeatable precision in plate positioning and, together with a small locking spring, ensure greater reliability during machining.


Design of cooling channels
Two cooling channels located close to the cutting edge allow simultaneous coolant supply to the cutting and open surfaces. The result is effective cooling and lubrication, resulting in longer tool life and lower costs. A coolant pressure of up to 70 bar can be used for optimum reduction of heat generation.

The 6 coolant connections on the tool block allow different coolant supply configurations. The coolant transfer from the block to the saber allows a high flexibility in the overhang of the saber. In addition, the cantilever length can be easily adjusted using a simple scale. The elongated coolant transfer allows the coolant supply to be provided for a wide range of overhang settings within the zone clearly marked on the tool block and sword.

Performance and reliability
Mitsubishi offers four grades with high-tech coatings that are suitable for various applications and materials ranging from steel alloys and stainless steels to cast iron and materials that are difficult to machine. The versatile VP20RT cutting inserts with PVD coating, for example, can be used for multiple materials, reducing tool inventory costs. Other grades such as the MY5015 are designed for machining steels and cast iron at up to 300 m/min, while the VP10RT is designed for harder steels, stainless steels, heat-resistant alloys and titanium alloys. There are two chip breakers to choose from: the GS for cut-off and piercing applications and the GM for high performance cut-off applications. All indexable inserts are available in widths of 2-5 mm.

This makes them the choice for all applications from roughing to finishing of high hardness materials. The VFR series is available in two versions: VFR2SBF for finishing and finishing in perfect surface quality and VFR2SB ideal for roughing/pre-machining with reliable long tool life. The VFR2SBF finishing tool incorporates Mitsubishi Materials' Zero µ surface technology and unique radius geometry for impressive cutting properties and results. The twist angle of 30 degrees and the polished cutting edges ensure fast chip removal. The double-edged ball head has a short cutting length for maximum stability and performance when machining heat-treated and high-strength steels. The VFR2SBF is available in diameters from 1 mm to 6 mm.

The flexible VFR2SB series for high-precision pre-machining is available in four variants to meet the exact needs of the application. This unique new all-rounder is available in diameters from 0.2 to 20 mm. The straight and conical shank designs have been developed with a focus on contour accuracy and stability. This allows vibrations to be reduced and the service life of the tool to be increased even further during pre-machining with high cutting data for high-hard materials. For the efficient turning of high hardened steel, Mitsubishi Materials has an extensive range of coated CBN insert grades, the BC8100 series. Four grades make up the complete range:

BC8105 for the highest speeds and fine surface finishing. This grade can provide long tool life and fine surface finishes of Ra 0.6?m or better due to the improved lubricity of the CrAlN and TiAlN layered coating.

BC8110 is the first choice for continuous high speed and light interrupted machining up to 310 m/min cutting speeds.
