On November 1st, 2018 the 1st PLATO Conference in China took place in Beijing in cooperation with PLATO’s long term partner DRIT Info Co. Ltd.
Focus on harmonized VDA-AIAG FMEA approach
Experts from Automotive Industry Engineering as well as Quality Management Experts followed the invitation of PLATO and DRIT and joined the conference at the Jen Beijing Hotel in the heart of Beijing’s Financial and Media District.
Robust for the future with e1ns
“Robust for the future” was presented by PLATO CEO and co-founder Andreas Großmann. He presented PLATO’s view on increasing complexity of product engineering and its impact on data modelling and analysis. The new age of FMEA goes beyond FMEA and a system like e1ns supports the required flexibility by its configurable content to adapt the company specific engineering process.
Customer presentation: FMEA Application in Vehicle Product Development at Zotye Auto
Mr Zhu Quanguo, Head of Quality, presented best practise and showed how FMEA is integrated in the Engineering Process at Zotye. Zotye as an OEM uses SCIO™ suite for requirement analysis, DFMEA, PFMEA and Control Plan. A success story about the integration of SCIO™.
News from PLATO and DRIT consulting team about the new VDA-AIAG Standard
The VDA-AIAG standard and its impact on conducting FMEA was presented by Claudia Lange. Not only following the 6 steps of creating FMEA, but also showing how e1ns is able to support this process, was part of the presentation. Finally, the conference visitors were able to get a first impression of the implementation of the harmonized approach in e1ns. Scope Definition and the new FMEA layout including Action Priority and MSR (Monitoring System Response) were of major interest.
Best practise example: FMEA Based on Modularity Development
Chen Keyu, consultant from DRIT, shared a best practise example from an OEM, who integrated FMEA based on modularity development. Modul FMEAs are focused on certain product parts and help to reduce complexity. Efficiency is increased due to modul templates. e1ns.templates supports Modularity Development and promotes Lessons Learned.
Panel Discussion: Meet the experts
The conference was closed with an intensive panel discussion. Conference visitors were able to post their questions during the complete conference day via Messaging Tool. The group of experts consisted of Quality Experts from the Chinese Automotive Industry as well as PLATO and DRIT consultants. Discussed were topics such as “Who should be member of the FMEA core team”, “How to evaluate the quality of an FMEA” and “Best practise of FMEA integration in the product development process”. Committed statements and active contributions made it a valuable discussion.
