The REIDEN RX14 and RX18 engineering range are one innovation richer. The first 5-axis machining centre with the milling and turning technology and automatic palette change has been successfully delivered.

Automatically loading and unloading 4-tonne workpieces is a challenge even for machine manufacturers who think in larger sizes. The load on the various machine components is high and has to counter enormous forces. This can be only be mastered with years of experience in mechanical engineering.

But the task that Reiden Technik AG took on in early 2015 based on a customer requirement went a step further. The palette changer now had to be combined with a desired turning function of 400 revolutions a minute. The development department was faced with the task of implementing all these requirements in a single solution without making any compromises in rotary table revolutions, workpiece weight or travel distances.

 This task was able to be completely fulfilled. So today it can be proudly shown that the "palette changer with turning function" option in the REIDEN RX14 and RX18 series in no way limits the existing specifications.

And the customer? About 10 months later the machine has been delivered and accepted. The customer is one step closer to the goal of automated production and Reiden Technik AG's portfolio is one option richer.
