RÖHM expands its product range in the area of automation technology with the new RSP-MV swivelling unit. It is very convincing with its maximum speed, smooth as well as precision swivelling and increased process reliability. This expands the current range of swivelling units to include units with a middle position.

The basis for the functionality and precision of the new RSP-MV swivelling unit with mid-position locking is the compact construction and innovative bumper concept. This makes smooth and fast swivelling possible from the end positions and middle position without have to vent the piston chamber first. As tolerance compensation, the end positions and middle position can each be adjusted by ± 3°.

Increased process reliability is ensured through a variety of possible ways to query all end positions (up to six sensors). The exact swivelling position is determined using integrated sensor technology thereby reducing unnecessary waiting times. That way swivelling times can be achieved that are up to 50 percent faster. The high torque over the entire swivelling range as well as the bumper adjustment at the end positions and middle position for adaptation to the moment of inertia also contribute to reducing the cycle time.

Through the included S7 programming module, the RSP-MV swivelling unit can be integrated directly into existing program flow and put into operation immediately. Once it is installed, it can reach up to 10 milling swivelling cycles completely without maintenance thereby ensuring the highest process reliability.

The new swivelling unit is available in three sizes with different configuration variations.
