ROEMHELD to highlight numerous innovations in assembly and handling technology at Motek

roemheld news Image

The ROEMHELD Group will present an entire range of innovations for assembly and handling technology. Making their trade fair premier and soon to be introduced to the market, the first components of the moduhub New Generation series will be on display: a new modular system for manual assembly stations.

Other new products include moduLift for components weighing up to 80 kg (with a rotary axis as an option), the new, simple DDMHe 140 rotary module for workpieces weighing up to 150 kg and the lightweight, hand-guided bearing press for mobile use.

ROEMHELD will be exhibiting all of its new products and a large selection of other assembly and handling technology components at Motek, October 8 through 11 in Stuttgart, Hall 3Booth 3505.

Pioneers: new lifting column for New Generation series

“moduhub New Generation” is the name of the new modular system that will premier its first modules at Motek. This new series consists of components that are more powerful, more versatile and to some extent network-compatible. ROEMHELD has also modernized the design and simplified production so that customers benefit from lower prices. In the near future, the new modular system will be expanded incrementally.

The new product range is starting with electric lifting columns. These lifting columns have four force levels for workpiece weights of up to 500 kg, offer strokes of up to 600 mm and speeds of up to 50 mm/second to enable short cycle times. Optionally, rotating modules with continuous rotation can be added to the lifting columns.

The slots integrated in the outer profile make it possible to attach bulkhead brackets, shelves and holders. These move with the lifting axis or maintain position relative to the operator if the lifting axis is aligned accordingly. Installation with the outer profile with the grooves at the top offers improved resistance to dust and dirt. Alternatively, the columns can be operated by hand panel or foot switch. Batteries for an independent power supply are included in the extensive moduhub modular system, as are rotating and cart modules.

In addition to the electrically operated models, there will be a new manual version with a hydraulic lift drive with foot pedal. It can move workpiece weights of up to 600 kg over a stroke of up to 600 mm.

New moduLift with large stroke (with rotary axis as an option) and new rotating module

ROEMHELD is expanding its existing moduhub modular system with the stationary, electrically operated moduLift with rotation axis for workpiece weights of up to 40 kg. In the version without rotation axis, workpiece weights of up to 80 kg can even be lifted to the optimum assembly height where they can be machined ergonomically and safely.

This innovation is characterized by a large stroke of over 1200 mm, which is achieved at a speed of up to 60 mm/second. Both axes are operated via a hand panel or foot switch and are self-locking in any position. A shutdown function prevents collisions when the component is lowered. The optional rotation axis can rotate workpieces continuously.

The new rotating module with electric drive also enables continuous rotation for workpiece weights of up to 150 kg. It can be easily combined with all lifting modules of the moduhub modular system and is offered at an attractive price thanks to its robust and simple design.

Also new: light and mobile bearing press

ROEMHELD will present at Motek for the first time a mobile pull-in device for flexible bearing assembly. The ergonomic bearing press weighs only 20 kg and is available in both horizontal and vertical versions. As it is suspended from a balancer, the operator can work with little to no fatigue.

A stroke of 200 mm allows the precise joining and connecting of parts with a force of 10 to 100 kN, either manually or automatically, which can be reproduced at any time. This can be

individually programmed in two steps. The range of parts that can be assembled have an inner diameter of 30 mm to an outer diameter of 145 mm. This means that even large and heavy workpieces, such as ball bearings, bushings, bolts and housing components, can be easily joined.

The pull-in device can be combined with the moduhub system modules, for example with lifting columns or cart modules, to create an assembly workstation.

About the ROEMHELD Group

From medical engineering and mechanical engineering to the automotive, aerospace and agricultural industries or the production of smartphone cases: technologies and products of the companies in the ROEMHELD Group have been used to manufacture numerous industrial commodities and goods for end users for more than 80 years.

The ever-growing range of more than 25,000 catalogue items includes innovative and intelligent solutions for manual and automated clamping and set-up of dies, workpieces, fixtures and pallets as well as for handling and assembly. They are used by numerous industrial companies worldwide, especially in machining, forming technology, plastics processing and 3D printing.

The focus is always on efficiency and productivity — through minimum set-up times, fast manufacturing and high flexibility.

Innovation through tradition: ROEMHELD was established in 1707 with a foundry in Friedrichshütte, which still belongs to the ROEMHELD Group today and counts as one of Germany’s oldest active industrial businesses.

Three members belong to the owner-managed group of companies. Römheld GmbH Friedrichshütte, Laubach, Germany, is responsible for workholding elements, assembly and handling technology as well as die clamping and change technology. Zero point clamping systems, machine vices and tower workholding systems are produced by STARK Spannsysteme GmbH, Rankweil, Austria. Technical consulting and development of machine vices, tower workholding systems as well as die clamping and changing technology takes place at Hilma-Römheld GmbH in Wilnsdorf, Germany.

The Group employs around 530 people and is represented by service and sales companies in over 50 countries. It achieves an annual turnover of more than 90 million euros.
