Rink Formgriffe win the 2025 Hessian export price in the category for handworking with the help of their Pictures by PC CAD/CAM software from SCHOTT SYSTEME GmbH.
Originally founded in 1995, the Ehringshausen-based company has manufactured approximately 40,000 customised anatomical grips for air, sport and free pistols, delivered to amateur and professional marksmen such as Olympic champions Christian Reitz (Deutschland) and Jong Oh Jin (South Korea), in over 100 countries worldwide. A jury of nine experts on the voting panel selected Rink Formgriffe from 37 other applicants. Their international reach (66% export share) and the unique combination of traditional craftsmanship, modern 3D technology, sporting expertise, and 30 years of experience were all deciding factors.
Thomas Rink (company founder and owner) was keen to point out that their 30 year relationship with German CAD/CAM software developer SCHOTT SYSTEME GmbH, played a significant role in achieving both the award and in offering world class products for over 30 years. SCHOTT SYSTEME's Pictures by PC CAD/CAM software has, since the inception of Rink Formgriffe, perfectly complemented the company's world class handworking skills with digital design and machining capabilities. Aside from being used to 3D model an extensive selection of pistol types from well-known manufacturers such as Feinwerkbau, Pardini, Steyr and Walther, Pictures by PC is also used to reverse engineer the scanned tailor made silicon grips into a 3D CAD models for further refining and subsequent CNC machining.
