PLC functional module accelerates programming of pneumatic high-speed pickers

In the electronics, medical technology and consumer goods assembly areas, the pneumatically controlled high-performance assembly units SCHUNK PPU-P and SCHUNK DRL are seen as the benchmark for highly dynamic pick & place operations. To make their commissioning even more convenient, the competence leader for clamping technology and gripping systems has now developed a neutral PLC functional module for simplified control, with which the sequential program can be integrated into every standard PLC software. The sequence already set in the preset can be flexibly expanded on or adjusted to the individual application with minimal effort. Here, basic modeling of the process is dispensed with. Also the inputs for the sensor signals and the outputs for the valve signals are already defined and only need to be assigned. The tool runs under CODESYS version 2.11/ Service Pack 9, TwinCat System Control v2.11.0, SIEMENS TIA portal V13, and Siemens SIMATIC Manager Step 7 classic v5.5.
