Engineering precisely what value
Starrag / HAIMER: Turbine Technology Days 2016 - Turbine expertise from Starrag and HAIMER
Starrag Group, from Switzerland, and the German HAIMER GmbH are planning a technological highlight with the fourth Turbine Technology Days event. The event will be taking place from the 21st to the 22nd June at the Starrag location in Rorschacherberg. The third event in 2015 attracted around 250 aerospace and energy industries specialists from around the world.
”There are many reasons to visit Lake Constance in June“, said Dr Bernhard Bringmann, Managing Director of Starrag AG, part of the Starrag Group.
The main justification is the programme offered by mid-size German firm HAIMER GmbH and the Swiss Starrag Group. The programme will focus on presentations and demonstrations regarding the efficient manufacture of turbine components. The organizers will also receive VIP support on the 22nd from Dr Gregor Kappmeyer, Engineering Associate Fellow in Machining at Rolls-Royce Deutschland Ltd in Oberursel, Germany, who will be performing his keynote presentation Modern Aero Engine Components – Efficient Machining, the Key for Success.
For Starrag CEO Walter Börsch, the key to success is Engineering precisely what you value. This means that customers receive exactly what they need and what is important to them. This refers specifically to safety, profitability and growth. This event, with ten notable partners, shows how this philosophy enables the company to reach the goals it calls important for survival.
The fourth Turbine Technology Days event will address every important aspect of turbine production: from automated 24/7 production, the highperformance cutting of blisks (five times faster on the edges), the complete manufacture of housings (It’s all there: turning, milling, drilling, countersinking, deburring), the most suitable tools for the best-value process, process-stable shrinking and balancing methods, to forward-looking maintenance and blade repair with adaptive technology.
The icing on the cake of the Technology Days is the optional special event on the 23rd June: Participants in Turbine Technology Days 2016 will have the opportunity to visit and gain an insight into the quality manufacturing at HAIMER GmbH in Igenhausen (near Augsburg). In the newly-opened application centre, they will be able to learn in detail about tool fittings, shrinking and balancing methods and solid carbide cutting tools with a focus on turbine manufacturing.
