SUMIBORON Binderless is a polycrystalline cubic boron nitrid (CBN) that directly binds nanometer- or sub-micron-level CBN particles without binder materials. Binderless CBN is harder and has better thermal conductivity. Therefore, it enables higher efficiency and longer tool life in machining of hard-to-cut materials, such as titanium alloy and cobalt-chromium alloy.

New grades and chipbreakers have been added to the already established GND grooving system with polygon shank and a flexible and economical cassette system for inserts. An array of chipbreakers improves the efficiency in chip control in various applications such as grooving, turning, profiling and cut-off. Thanks to our new modular grooving system, cassettes for TGA inserts have been added to the modular system for soft grooving. Triangular TGA inserts with integral chipbreakers achieve outstanding chip control. Combined with AC530U grade TGA inserts cover a wide application range for machining of steel, stainless steel and cast iron. In addition to GND and TGA inserts for soft grooving, tangential CGA inserts enable hard grooving with SUMIBORON grades. Uncoated CBN grade BN250 developed for continuous grooving and coated CBN grade BNC30G for interrupted grooving applications. The flat MultiDrill MDF type is a solid carbide drill that can be used for various purposes including high-efficiency spot facing and drilling in inclined and curved surfaces. It can be used in a variety of drilling applications thanks to its point angle of 180° so that it is applicable to high-efficiency spot facing, drilling in non-horizontal surfaces such as inclined and cylindrical surfaces and interrupted drilling. It also reduces burrs at hole exits by more than half compared to general-purpose drills. MDF type achieves high rigidity by employing RS THINNING, which ensures web thickness on the bottom face. FEATURES OF DMSW SERIES APPLICABILITY The complex arc-shaped cutting edge creates optimal cutting angles according to the axial depths of cut, such as maximum 3.5mm/t ultra-high-feed machining in small depths of cut applications, and large depths of cut machining in low-feed applications of maximum 3mm. STABILITY 75-degree lead angle controls cutting force in the back force direction, ensuring stable machining without chattering even with long projection applications. SURFACE QUALITY The wiper effect of the complex arc-shaped cutting edge prevents severe deterioration of the machined surface finish. Even at high feed rates of 2,0 mm/t or more, a satisfactory finised surface can be attained.
