GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Swedturn 700 is a high productive lathe equipped with a CNC system for linear- and circular interpolation. The machine is designed to fulfil the demands for high productive chip removal, high repeatability, machining of close tolerances and easy to handle as well as easy to maintain.

Swedturn 700 can be offered in 4 lengths and with 2 different headstocks. ST700 can be equipped with one or 2 turrets, 2 or 4-axis. ST700 is as standard equipped with a 170 mm headstock and a Sauter turret with 12 positions according to DIN 69880 60 mm diameter.
Swedturn 700 can be equipped with a large number of options as programmable tailstock with quill, rotating tools, C-axis, measuring probes for tool gauging and part measuring, automatic tool changer (ATC) gantry loader (CPC), part conveyor and so on.

It is a slant bed design with an inclination of 55°.
The different headstocks are equipped with integrated gearbox with 2 steps.
All types have a Polyflex belt for transmission.
All sliding surfaces are lubricated from a central lubrication unit placed on the hydraulic unit.

The rotating movement of the X-axis ball screws is transmitted from feed motors of AC- type via ”timing belts” and in the Z-axis the feed motors are mounted direct on the ball screws.

The CNC-control uses a linear scale for X-positioning and the inbuilt encoders for Z-positioning.
A separate encoder gives the feedback from the quill and the housing of the tailstock.

The machine can be equipped with a chip conveyor. The conveyor can be installed for chip transportation either to the left or to the right side of the machine.

The machining area is completely covered by protecting guards which are catching the flying chips and water splash from the machining down to the chip conveyor. The front movable protection guard has two large windows for good visibility. The windows are made of safety glass.

Swedturn 700 can be equipped with an automatic roof for a gantry loader for part changing and tool change ( ATC ).

The safety system is based on the Siemens function ” Sinumerik Safety Integrated" which allows some machine functions with open doors.
