About TU Kaiserslautern, FBK

Located at the faculty of Mechanical and Process Engineering at the University of Kaiserslautern, the institute is responsible for research and teaching in the subject area Manufacturing Technology and Production Systems. Close contact and various collaborations with different companies ensure a practical approach to industrial production. The strong engagement by the German Research Foundation (DFG) is an expression of confidence in the basic research in leading edge technologies being conducted here.

FBK is home to an interdisciplinary team of researchers from various countries. Collaborations and scientific exchanges under the umbrella of the German Academic Society for Production Engineering (WGP) and the International Academy for Production Engineering (CIRP) represent an important component of our activities.

Professional support in IT, technics, and administrative services form the basis for excellent research and teaching in modern equipment at our manufacturing laboratory and our “digital factory”.
