In 1907 our founder, Dipl.-Ing. Wilhelm Winkelmann, published a reference book entitled "Transformatoren und Asynchronmotoren" [Transformers and asynchronous motors].Our company has been involved with the development and production of high-quality electric motors since its foundation in 1921. After only a short time, our products had gained an excellent reputation amongst users in industry, agriculture and shipping. For more than 40 years, now, our range has included special motors such as direct current motors with explosion protection. Since the middle of the 1990s, we have been concentrating on the development and production of individual and special motors as well as the exact reproduction of special motors that are no longer available.Since its foundation, WINKELMANN has been a successful family enterprise with short decision-making channels and a special working environment.

Our approximately one hundred employees, who have predominantly completed their training within the company, are the key to our success. With their high level of qualification and versatile capabilities, these are the people who can turn a customer request into exactly the right motor. We produce in keeping with the principles of made-to-measure tailoring and with a very great manufacturing depth. This means that basic units with a modular construction and prefabricated components ensure that production proceeds cost-effectively and swiftly. Using our specialized machinery, our highly qualified employees produce parts to meet specific orders. Particular windings and special components are hand-crafted to a high level of precision by experienced experts. This enables us to guarantee the level of individuality required from the product in a consistently high quality from a single source. Prior to delivery, our products undergo comprehensive testing under authentic operating conditions – we also carry out individual testing for specific orders on request, with external test bodies if required for example witnesstests (e.g. CSA, CSP, UL).
