20 meters in one piece

Company Bergen Engines has placed an order for a MasterTec 4000 AT which is bigger than all three existing machines at Bergen.

At the moment the machine is in the assembly at WALDRICH COBURG.

This investment follows the new motor generation of Bergen Engines. The machining center will be big enough for machining the V-version of the new motor series.  Plan is to produce almost 50 BV blocks per year. The investment was made to extend Bergen Engines’ market position.

The relationship between Bergen Engines and WALDRICH COBURG has been established 24 years ago. The good experience with WALDRICH COBURG was one of the reasons to decide again for a machine from Coburg. “We have found the right machine supplier and this will push ahead our technical developments. We are familiar with this type of machine and it offers many advantages for the machining and maintenance personnel, because operation is similar to the former machines. Furthermore, we have ordered eight different spindle units which can be used for two other machines. This helps to increase the production flexibility in our facility in Bergen.” (Dag Arve Midttun, Project Manager at Bergen Engines).

Bergen Engines has again high expectations of the know-how of WALDRICH COBURG. The machine will be ready for acceptance end of July 2015.

By the way, the longest PowerTec table machine with a set-up length of 29.25 meters, is also standing in Scandinavia, at company Konepaja Häkkingen Oy in Finland.
