Machines for radial or axial rolling of rings. In a modern-day radial-axial (ring) rolling mill, (commonly referred to as a ring rolling machine), the curved surfaces and end surfaces of a ring are rolled by means of two separate rolling gaps: the ring’s wall thickness is rolled between a driven main roller acting on the outside of the ring (formerly known as a “plate roller”) and a mandrel roller acting on the inside of the ring ("radial rolling gap").
