Measuring plates with integrated lift tables

At VW Emden when vehicles are removed from the production line and taken to be measured in the Pilot Hall, they can be mounted there accurately using  their reference points with the help of a special version of Witte aluminum sandwich plate. This is mainly contributed to by four integrated scissor lift tables with which the measuring technician can lift the vehicle complete with wheels and position it on the highly accurate grid system with the help of special columns for example using the RPS-holes (also on jack up points or transport holes). The consistent use of the reference point system (RPS) ensures the comparability of the data from the bodyshell to the finished vehicle.
