About Ares Carbide
Ares Carbide Srl is an Italian company headquartered in Turin that designs and manufactures tools with carbide inserts for high-precision machining. We approach design with a technical/engineering mindset: optimization of geometry, selection of materials and coating thicknesses, and uncompromising quality control to deliver solutions engineered for the modern machining industry. This is why we are leaders in our sector.
WHAT WE DO
We design, manufacture and commercialise specialised tool lines for niche applications, including centering, chamfering, grooving, corner rounding and engraving. Major product families in our catalogue include:
• Spot Drill (multifunction tool): a tool engineered to perform multiple operations using the same toolholder (centering, chamfering, engraving, radial grooving, etc.).
• Engraving tools: shank tools in steel or solid carbide with replaceable inserts, suitable for use on pantograph machines up to CNC machining centres; available with standard point angles of 45° and 60°, with the capability to manufacture any customer-specified angle for all production sectors and for both ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
TECHNICAL FEATURES
• Geometry and modularity: all our products, and the Spot Drill in particular, are developed with geometries that allow both rotational machining (milling) and stationary operations (turning), thereby reducing setup time and tool changes.
• Replaceable/indexable inserts: the entire range uses replaceable/indexable inserts to keep operating costs low and simplify maintenance.
• Capability across material classes: our tools are designed to machine a wide range of materials — from non-ferrous alloys to exotic steels — by combining specific geometries with carbide grades and coatings selected for each material class.
APPLICATIONS
Our tools are intended for use on:
• CNC machining centres and milling machines for precision operations;
• Conventional lathes, automatic lathes and CNC lathes;
• Pantographs and engraving machines for engraving-dedicated tools.
BENEFITS
• Reduced setup time thanks to the multifunctionality of our products.
• Fewer tools in inventory while enabling a greater variety of operations.
• Improved process repeatability due to validated geometries and application-specific cutting edge preparations.
R&D AND QUALITY
Ares Carbide develops geometries and solutions starting from real application cases: cutting tests, optimization of cutting edges, and selection of carbide grades and coatings. The catalogue and technical datasheets include recommended cutting parameters as well as assembly and usage guidelines.
