Hygiene and distance concepts at trade fairs in Germany

Many German organisers are planning a re-start in autumn 2020 after the lockdown caused by the corona pandemic. The federal states have signalled a thumbs-up in many cases and have specified rules for hygiene and social distancing. On this basis, the organisers have developed far-reaching concepts for each trade fair individually in close cooperation with the responsible authorities in order to protect your health. The large-scale and modern exhibition centres in Germany offer perfect conditions for implementing these concepts.

Basic points of all hygiene concepts and social distancing measures for your safety are for example

  • Keeping a minimum distance of 1.5 metre between all persons on the exhibition centres
  • Stream of visitors is controlled at entry areas and within the halls by consistent crowd management to avoid a high concentration of people
  • Complete registration of visitors, exhibitor and service staff and other participants to enable tracking
  • Observance of strict sanitary rules on the exhibition centres; especially frequent cleaning cycles for shared facilities and contact surfaces
  • Good aeration of entry areas, halls and conference rooms by modern ventilation installation
  • Numerous possibilities of hand disinfection placed throughout the exhibition centre
  • No welcome rituals like handshakes
  • Wearing a face mask is recommended and to some extent obligatory.

Here you will find an overview of the instructions given by the trade fair organisers in Germany on how to handle Covid-19 on the exhibition grounds and at trade fairs. This overview is not exhaustive. We try to keep this overview as up-to-date as possible.
