Automatic Thread Gauge

2020-04-22 16:47 | 97 calls
The automatic thread gauge is carried out with two tool holders, one of which is equipped with a thread quality gauge and the other with a thread reject gauge. The tool holders are automatically inserted and exchanged during programming via the machine magazine position. If the torque increases when the thread gauges are screwed in, this is detected by the i-threading software and the machine spindle is set into reverse. As additional safety, the quick-change insert is equipped with an overload clutch. This only interrupts the power transmission in clockwise rotation when a defined torque is exceeded. If the thread rejection gauge can be screwed in too far, the i-threading software detects this via the axial distance travelled.
