Thanks Ken!
I looked at the website before. I just wanted to see real world information. It may cut 14" but you may not want to try it type stuff. :)
Thanks! I wasn't sure what the smaller chuck could handle.
Hello guys,
Looking to sell my TL-1 and move up to a turning center. My main concern is I have a job that has an aluminum part that is 6" diameter and about 6.5" long. I turn the majority of the...
Sent you a PM.
Thanks for the link Geof!
The part is 6.900" diameter. From the face to the bottom of the radius is around 2". It is only .889" from the flat to the bottom of the radius.
Trying to find a tool to cut this part. Anyone have an idea on what I can use. I need the tool to cut the female part on the face.

I was thinking that about the bar stock also. Do you think if you rounded the edges of the bar it would align when you feed it through? If you want just PM me the price for the mori and what...
Has anyone tried using the bar feeder with sqaure bar stock? Just curious how well this would work.
If so, What was your experience with it. Quoting a job and I have never seen the stuff. I know it is a type of plastic.
What is the price range for these? I'm thinking of running a bar feeder because the cycle time is going to be around 4-5 minutes. 1,000 parts is 83 hours of cycle time. I would be doing this every...
I would be starting with 22mm square bar. Overall length is about 2.750 inches. Gets 1/2 NPT thread on the end of the bar. 4mm tapped holes on one flat of the bar. An o-ring groove and a drilled...
Thinking about getting a lathe w/ live tools. Haven't gotten too far into the process but was curious what the capabilities are. I need to drill two holes that are off the center line of the part. ...
I am looking for a machine to put part numbers on 316 parts. I need to do 1000 per week and I don't want to tie up my mill doing it. It would be on a flat surface. Where are some good places to...
I use nothing but varimill. They will cut until you do something stupid to break it.
Sorry, I am jumping around on you. This is a different part. It needs an internal Metric M8x1 thread through the center of it. The thread has to be .280 deep. That is critical.
I found that in gibbs last night. I haven't threadmilled before so it is new. I bought a threadmill from advent. It is an M8x1 multiple thread. If I understand correctly you start and the bottom...
I'm using Gibbscam 2006. It's just a matter of knowing where to plug in the numbers.
Thanks for the link! Now that I have found the tool I just have to learn how to use it and program it. I have never came across the situation where I needed to thread mill. This job would be 1,000...
Just like the title says. Is it possible to thread mill external NPT threads? It would be on the end of 22mm square bar.
I thought about the slitting saw. I may have to go that route if I can't get this to work how I want it to. Thanks for the advice!
I have two slots that I need to cut. First is .118 wide and .039 deep. Second is .068 wide and .068 deep. The endmill is a 3 flute. I have to cut 150 parts with this detail so I need some help...
Good eye! It's a C6.
That is perfect! Thanks so much. What did you use to convert it? I am going to need a lot more in the future.
What is a good software to convert a JPEG to DXF. I have tried to download some free stuff but not the results I was hoping for. I may not be able to with this picture. Here is the picture. ...
PM sent!
I use Blaser BC40 NF. I am currently running the stainless job that I told you about. I tried something a little different. I was just running a clean up pass on the part and ran the 3 inch face...
I run 316L alot. I run a 3 inch face mill(6 inserts) at 250 rpm and 5 ipm on a VF3SS. I'm cutting .213 off a part that is 2.5 inches wide. I take it in two steps of .106 I can cut about 40 parts...
A little more info would help. What diameter face mill? How many inserts? What size machine?
I have several GS holders and they work great. I use them for all of my reamers. Very good quality!!! Have fun with the machine. I have a VF3-SS and would suggest getting the 80 Gal. coolant sump...
