Hi everyone
a while ago I created the open source nesting program SVGnest: SVGnest - Free and Open Source nesting for CNC machines, lasers and plasma cutters
it's a completely free, unlimited...
Hi guys
it's been a while since I've been back here. I remember when I built my first CNC, the guidance from the awesome people at CNCZone was invaluable.
so here's a present for you, something...
been away for a while, but now I'm back!
with the release of flash 11, I thought I'd update partkam to take advantage of some of the new features.
- native cubic bezier rendering. Previously it...
I've been using cs4, but in theory any version that supports actionscript 3 should work.
I may add lathe functionality in future versions, but only after I get a cnc lathe to test with, which is probably a long way off unfortunately.
wow, nice!
steel or aluminum?
hey gang
I've taken a break for the holidays, but now I'm back!
captainvee:
you should be able to save before the toolpath is generated. In fact saving does not save the toolpath (you'll...
that's brilliant :]
I really want to make one.. any updates on plans?
I probably do have 220 behind the drywall somewhere. I was kind of hoping I could just plug it into a regular wall outlet. I guess I'll have to look around and see if there are any 220 outlets.
I'd be interested to know this too, since I'm planning on a hitachi/chinese combo.
while we're on the subject of the x200, does anyone know if it takes 110v input? That's all I have in my house..
at last, someone finally starts using my partkart site :]
also, please do report any bugs you find, as I'm continuing to refine the offset algorithm!
all is fixed! check it out at the partkart url (you may have to refresh a few times to clear your cache)
let me know if you find anything else fishy.
there's a tool in the open source forum called gcode to dxf. There's a commercial version out I think.
here it is: http://www.cnczone.com/forums/opensource_software/8814-g-code_dxf.html
there are tons of free ones now. CamBam is always great, or you could use inkscape tools or heeks cnc. Or my very own partkam. (check out the open source forum)
ah.. I think that's because the inside outness algorithm assumes a constant winding direction, but that path is in pieces. No problem, just have to reset winding direction before doing that stuff.
...
alright, I see the problem. Will upload fix along with the metric thing. But first, sleep!
hm.. that shouldn't be necessary since I implemented the fix. Could it be that you are using an older version?
try this url: www.partkart.com/partkam
I keep that url updated with the latest...
pshouse: that particular problem was fixed in october (actually just a few posts down).
I haven't seen any other svg quirks since then, but if you come across one please post it so I can fix it...
I see the problem, will upload fix shortly. Thanks for the report!
I would put two skate bearings in them. That would fill it out just about right.
sorry for the delay. Was at a student business competition for the weekend. (I won tons of money! :rainfro:)
anyways, that sounds like floating point error. Does this happen after you switch from...
I've been a little busy making the partkart site, so unfortunately no progress yet.. gonna get back to it soon though!
Hi guys
I've been working on a site that lets you share cnc cuttable files (sort of like the dino dxf thread, but with access control, torrents and other good stuff). check it out here: Part Kart...
update: fixed a few more issues.
I've found that in daily use I sometimes need to edit a bunch of toolpaths at once, so now there's a batch modify feature. Also the dialog boxes were stacked way...
if this only happens during a cut I'd suspect the router bit was slipping. I've had it happen to me a few times, especially with smaller upcut bits.
are you selling the plans microcarve? I can't find anything from a quick google search. Seems like a nice little project I can quickly cut out.
update: found a few bugs in new features, just uploaded fix.
if you were seeing strange behaviour before, it should be fine now.
beta 005 has been released!
New features:
- speed improvement! rendering of complex files should be significantly faster
- new tools - vector pointer and pen tool
now there is a move tool and a...
oh no I was talking about the original dxf, not the autotraced one. The autotraced one would probably work fine as well.
yeah. When I opened it the circles weren't round at all and was flat on the bottom. I just made it look like the gif.
