Presentation by Dr. Jörg Trampler, ZF North America, Inc.
GETPRO @ Expomaq, Léon (April 13 and 14, 2016)
Government regulations on emissions and fuel economy worldwide require more efficient vehicle drivelines. Transmissions play a key role in the powertrain and have already contributed significantly to powertrain efficiency in the past. With efficiency being a priority there are also requirements to further reduce the weight and size of transmissions while not jeopardizing its durability and NVH behavior (Noise-Vibration-Harshness). This leads to increasing demands on transmissions components with regard to functional integration, quality and cost. The presentation shows examples for evolution in automatic transmissions with gears being the center of it.
Speaker:
Dr. Jörg Trampler received both his degree in Mechanical Engineering and PhD in Production engineering from Hannover University, Germany. Working throughout many positions in the powertrain division at ZF, he currently heads the engineering center North America of ZF’s car powertrain technology division.
