INDEX receives “MM-Innovations-Award 2018”
During AMB, which took place in Stuttgart from September 18th – 22nd, 2018, INDEX received the MM Award for the innovations found in its new MS22-L multi-spindle automatic lathe. Presented by the industrial magazine MM Machine Market during the first day of the exhibition, this award honors excellent innovations in the areas of metal machining and supporting technologies. Five companies were rewarded in four categories for their innovations.
In the machine tools category, the award was given to the INDEX MS22-L multi-spindle automatic lathe with Swiss-type function from the Index-Werke GmbH & Co. KG Hahn & Tessky. This is the first multi-spindle automatic lathe worldwide to enable machining of long-turned parts simultaneously with 6 spindles and two tool carriers per spindle bearing. Furthermore, cutting off and rear-end machining are possible via the swiveling synchronous spindle. The use of driven tools also enables drilling and milling operations.
The highly productive solution guarantees drastic savings in the areas of installation surface and service staff, as well as cooling systems, handling systems and chip conveyors.
The new machine provides the greatest benefits to manufacturers of serial parts such as injectors for combustion engines and nozzles and pistons in the fluid technology. A further field of application is the production of shafts, such as those used in electric drives. This concept also opens new production possibilities for workpieces in the medical segment.
