Digital Manufacturing at Schleicher Fahrzeugteile – connected, transparent, efficient

Schleicher Fahrzeugteile GmbH & Co. KG is one step ahead of the competition: its machines, software, and tools have been intelligently networked using a Siemens solution. The goal: a 30 to 40% increase in productivity.

The starting points here are:

  • 15 machining centers are connected via the Mcenter shop floor platform. Their deep integration enables comprehensive use of machine data for process optimization.

  • Machine availability and utilization are monitored and analyzed using Analyze MyPerformance /OEE.

  • Program management based on Manage MyResources /Programs ensures that the right editing programs are deployed to the right machine at the right time.

  • A centralized tool management system using Manage MyResources /Tools is currently in preparation – to ensure optimal tool utilization and minimize setup times.

  • Works preparation, product and process design all use Digital Twins of the machining tools.

The result is a fully digital process chain that enables the company to identify and eliminate bottlenecks precisely where they will yield the greatest benefit.
