Successful EMO in Hannover
From September 18 to 23, WFL was represented by the latest MILLTURNs and technical innovations at the EMO in Hannover with an exhibition stand of more than 500m2.
Review I With more than 130,000 trade visitors, EMO is one of the most important machine tool exhibitions worldwide. For this reason, a high number of high-quality leads could be generated at the stand of WFL. Three MILLTURNs were exhibited at a stand of more than 500m2. Furthermore, the trade visitors had the possibility to watch daily live chippings and get an impression of the remarkable features of the MILLTURNs. The completely new M30 MILLTURN was presented for the first time at the EMO and especially appealed to the visitors. The presentation of the M40 MILLTURN / 3000mm featuring a new, stronger turning-boring-milling-unit with 27kW, was another highlight. A live performance of the M120 MILLTURN, a large-scale machine, could be experienced at the exhibition as well. An 18xD CoroPlus boring bar, a special tool manufactured by Sandvik Coromant, was presented in the M120. It is an “intelligent tool” which disposes of sensors and therefore provides information on capacity, temperature and deflection of the boring bar as well as the reached surface finish and intervenes adaptively in the machining process in case of overload – in line with the motto of the EMO “Connecting Systems for intelligent production“.
As far as Industry 4.0 is concerned, the visitors could get an overview of the solutions already implemented by WFL. Not only the new programming software Millturn PRO, but also the simulation software CrashGuard Studio was presented in the Industry 4.0 Corner. Moreover, the cloud-based solution Siemens Mindsphere, an app which can be operated intuitively and serves to retrieve information on the status of the machine, appealed to the visitors. In addition, the new AppCom by Walter Tools providing information on the status of the machine and tools as well as data for a more efficient production planning was presented.
