The maritime energy transition needs small solutions as well as large ones, and in a wide variety of areas. The competition 'ZeroEmission@Berth', an initiative of nine major German seaports supported by the Maritime Cluster Northern Germany, is specifically dedicated to ports. 'ZeroEmission@Berth' is looking for ways to supply ships with energy at berth that are alternatives to grid-connected shore power systems. The competition is also looking for innovations that, in addition to the effect at berth, contribute to decarbonization in the operation of ships at sea.
Competition entries in the categories of concepts, prototypes and existing solutions can be submitted until June 18.
