Behind the scenes: The RWTH Aachen University visits the DVS-headquarters

In October 2016 about 40 students of the Laboratory for Machine Tools and Production Engineering (WZL) of the renowned RWTH Aachen University visited the headquarters of the DVS TECHNOLOGY GROUP during their annual study trip to different companies. At the location Dietzenbach the study group was provided with insights on current developments of the DVS-companies and various topics relevant to their academic studies.
Bernd Rothenberger, executive board member for marketing and sales, welcomed the students personally and introduced them to the company group. The Dietzenbach-based DVS companies had prepared four agenda items for the further program of the afternoon: First of all, Dr. Markus Vos, managing director of PITTLER T&S, presented the DVS-implementation of the Industry 4.0-concept by illustrating the digitized wheel hub production at FRÖHLICH CNC Produktion. He was followed by Dr. Folkerts, who showed the local production of machine tools as part of a guided tour through the production halls. Afterwards the sales engineers Daniel Wächter from DISKUS WERKE Schleiftechnik and Benedict Muschik from DVS Universal Grinding introduced their companies and demonstrated the new DVS-machine series “DVS UGrind“. Finally, Omar Sharif gave a theoretical and practical lecture on the Power Skiving gearing technology, which he manages.
All participants enjoyed presenting the diverse companies, products and technologies of the DVS TECHNOLOGY GROUP to the attentive audience of the RWTH Aachen University.
