PRÄWEMA Antriebstechnik – No room for racism!
Through its support for the nationwide initiative “Respekt! Kein Platz für Rassismus” (Respect! No room for racism), Eschwege-based PRÄWEMA Antriebstechnik is taking a stand against any kind of discrimination due to ethnic origin, religion, gender, age, handicap or sexual orientation. Together with representatives from the Works Council and the Steel Workers’ Union (IG Metall), which is the official partner of the initiative, Axel Loehr, CFO of the DVS TECHNOLOGY GROUP put up the official “Respekt! Kein Platz für Rassismus” sign in the lobby at PRÄWEMA.
“By becoming involved in the initiative we are making it quite clear that we reject racism of any kind, and that mutual tolerance, acceptance and appreciation are an intrinsic part of our company culture,” Axel Loehr explains. Stefan Kolb, Chairman of the Works Council at PRÄWEMA, adds, “Our company has always stood for the respectful and fair treatment of all colleagues.”
Five more “Respekt! Kein Platz für Rassismus” signs have been put up in prominent spots in the administration, engineering and assembly areas, and all employees have been informed about the campaign. “By supporting the initiative we want to show that PRÄWEMA employees live out this philosophy in their daily work,” says Stefan Kolb.
PRÄWEMA Antriebstechnik is the first company in the Werra-Meißner region to support the charitable initiative. Elke Volkmann, deputy leader of the north Hesse branch of the Steel Workers' Union, is confident that other companies in the region will follow the PRÄWEMA example and join the initiative.
