The next software version (08) for the TNC 640 features many new and expanded functions. Here are three notable innovations from the extensive catalog:
- Global program settings (option 44)
With global program settings (option 44), you can define various coordinate transformations and settings in the Program Run, Full Sequence; Program Run, Single Block; and Positioning with MDI operating modes without having to change the NC program for this purpose. All of the settings apply globally and are superimposed on the selected NC program.
- Cad import (option 42)
The CAD viewer allows you to transfer data from CAD files in the STEP, IGES, and DXF formats directly to the control. You are able to extract contours or machining positions and save them as Klartext programs or as point files.
- Facing head (option 50)
For programming a facing head and its associated U axis, you can use the extensive turning cycles of the TNC 640 and conveniently simulate them in the Test Run operating mode. The only requirement is the implementation of a facing slide by the machine tool builder.
