The year 1984 marked an important milestone in reliable and user-friendly CNC machining.
This was the inaugural year of the TNC 155—the first HEIDENHAIN control offering a graphical simulation of the machining process and the first to enable manual ISO programming.
Its visual representation of the machining process dramatically improved NC program validation, allowing errors to be caught and fixed before they could occur.
And by allowing users to enter ISO programs into the control, the TNC 155 paved the way for the successful deployment of TNC controls in vocational learning contexts.
