13th CIRP Conference on Photonic Technologies [LANE 2024] from September 15 to 19, 2024

From September 15 to 19, 2024, the 13th CIRP Conference on Photonic Technologies [LANE 2024] will take place in the Stadthalle Fürth. Organized by the Bavarian Laser Center and the Institute for Photonic Technologies at the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg, the focus of LANE is on the exchange of current scientific results and developments on the application of lasers in research and production. The VDMA Working Group Laser and Laser Systems for Material Processing is a partner of the conference.
As an international platform for participants from science and industry, LANE 2024 will present and discuss all relevant topics of laser material processing in around 200 lectures - including top-class keynotes and inspiring guest lectures.
In addition to additive manufacturing, laser welding, precision processing with short and ultra-short pulses, sensor technology and control or surface processing and forming, the conference program also includes new technologies and current topics such as artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning, fast beam manipulation and beam shaping, material processing in the visible wavelength range as well as Industry 4.0 and digitalization. Special sessions on laser processes for the mobility of the future, manufacturing in space, solidification cracks in laser welding and a country special "Laser Technology in Singapore" round off the program. The detailed conference program will be published at the end of June.
An accompanying exhibition on all conference days offers companies the opportunity to present their innovative products and services to an international audience of experts.
In addition to the exhibition, the LANE conference supporting program offers further networking opportunities. Starting with the "Photonics Casino Night" and the Conference Banquet with the awarding of a new Knight of Laser Technology, through to the Lab Tour & Cocktail Session in the laser laboratories in Erlangen.
In addition, workshops on reducing prejudices and inequalities in science and academic careers, conducted in collaboration with the German research group FOR5134 "Solidification cracks in laser beam welding" led by Prof. Heather Hofmeister (Professor of Work Sociology at Goethe University Frankfurt), will offer conference participants the opportunity to think outside the box and learn something beyond technical innovations.
