Laser World of Photonics China 2026, held from March 18–20, reaffirmed its position as one of the world’s leading events for laser, optics and photonics technologies. With 8 percent more exhibition space, nearly 1,500 exhibitors from 22 countries and over 58,000 professional visitors, the show demonstrated impressive international growth.
Within this dynamic environment, the European Pavilion—jointly organized by VDMA Shanghai and VDMA Laser and Laser Systems for Material Processing—celebrated a highly successful debut. The concentrated presence of European manufacturers, ranging from laser sources and optical components to systems technology, attracted significant global attention and underscored Europe’s reputation for precision, quality and reliability.
Strong demand was particularly evident in high‑end applications such as ultrashort‑pulse processing, precision optics, quality assurance and optoelectronic production technologies. Numerous in‑depth technical discussions reflected the sustained appreciation for European photonics solutions.
Through initiatives like the European Pavilion, VDMA strengthens the international visibility of its member companies and supports their access to key global growth markets. Looking ahead, the next edition from March 8–10, 2027 aims to further expand the Pavilion and enhance the visibility of European photonics in this strategically important market.
