From a one-person team to our globally active Training Academy, HEIDENHAIN has been offering practical training courses on TNC-related topics for 45 years! Here’s how it happened.
The success story had its humble beginnings in 1981, which saw the creation of a new corporate department called “Customer Service, Training, and Documentation,” consisting of just one employee.
Training was first given solely to machine manufacturers, who were supposed to pass it on to their customers. But the attendee profile changed rapidly, with a sharp rise in the proportion of end users. As a result, the focus shifted even more toward practical, hands-on learning.
To meet the rising demand, HEIDENHAIN continually expanded its training offerings, taking them to a global audience. Today, TNC programming courses are held by HEIDENHAIN subsidiaries in regional languages around the world, with authorized training partners joining the effort in the year 2000.
A key milestone was reached in 2012, when our state-of-the-art training center first opened its doors at our headquarters in Traunreut, Germany. Here, high-tech classrooms and a 380 square-meter machine shop provide the optimal conditions for unforgettable hands-on learning: After creating NC programs in the classroom, attendees can upload, test, and refine them on machine tools in the shop.
