SUMITOMO ELECTRIC Hartmetall GmbH continues success

Ground-breaking ceremony in Münchheide IV (f.l.t.r.): Jan Sullot, Josef Heyes, Kunihiro Tomita, Atsushi Murayama

December 2014

As a member of the affiliated group of Sumitomo Electric Industries, Japan, the company has developed into a first-class and strongly innovative partner on the market for high precision tools for machining production. The company draws the products for customers in the whole of Europe both from the production facilities in Japan and, to a considerable extent, from a subsidiary based in Baden-Württemberg. Here, not only are products manufactured that meet the highest technical requirements, but also customised solutions for all complex machining requirements developed.

With the decision to build new company premises at the current location, the course has been set for further future development. Together with the Neuss-based architect Ralf Königshofen, a new building has been designed which, on the one hand reflects the self-conception of the company, and on the other, naturally meets the latest technical requirements of industrial construction.

The ground-breaking ceremony for the new company building on Konrad-Zuse-Str. in the industrial area Münchheide IV in Willich was attended by Kunihiro Tomita, Member of the Management Board of the parent company in Japan, Josef Heyes, the Mayor of the town of Willich, and the staff of the company. The completion of the new building is planned for December 2015.

Staff and management are already looking forward to the new premises.
