Apprenticeships 2023: “Know what's possible!” at ifm

The ifm group of companies welcomed 21 motivated students to give them an insight into the world of automation technology and sensor technology and to present the training opportunities available at ifm.
On August 16, 2022, the time had finally come again: The ifm group of companies opened its doors to interested students participating in the “wissen was geht!” career choice campaign. In the morning and afternoon, a total of 21 inquisitive young people were welcomed at the Tettnang-Bechlingen site and informed about the training opportunities available at the ifm group.
After a brief get-to-know-you warm-up game, the students were guided through the “hallowed halls” – the production halls – by experienced technical consultant Frank Watzlawik, giving them an in-depth look behind the scenes at ifm. Afterwards, the young people received a wealth of information about the group of companies during a company presentation. Among other things, they learned what the abbreviation ifm actually stands for, how many employees the company has, where its production sites are located, and in which industries its broad product portfolio is used.
A central part of the event was the presentation of training at ifm. The young people learned about the fields of study offered, how training and dual study programs are structured, how the 120 trainees and students in the Lake Constance region are supervised, what projects are planned during the training, and what highlights they can expect. In addition, participants received tips and tricks for applying. Ifm's expectations of the students and the company's guiding principle, “Ifm trains young people with the aim of offering them a secure, interesting, and challenging job,” were also communicated here.
“From ifm's point of view, it was a successful event. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all participants who used a morning or afternoon of their vacation to take a close look at their professional future,” said Michelle Jelen, HR Officer for Personnel Development and Training. “We look forward to welcoming interested students to our company again during the next summer vacation.”
